This "STARBURSTS" Nursery dance class focuses on teaching various fundamental styles of dance as a fun interactive introduction to dance for Pre-school level in an Independent Setting!

Styles include ballet, jazz, musical theatre as well as current trends such as street and hip hop through creative themes and confidence, social, motor, coordination and balance skills.

We use various syllabus to support of contact and are certified to teach using the Pre-Primary Syllabus created by the Royal Academy of Dance, Acrobatic Arts and Groove Child. At this stage they idea is to introduce dance at in its basic form which is used for all dance styles.

Please note this is an independent class and therefore parents are encouraged to wait in the waiting room for students during the duration of the lesson. We would ask parents to stay on site for their child for toilet runs or should they need you. We understand this may be the first time your child may be participating in an activity independently and happy to help assist with the transition. We do however require parents to help support this and an alternative trial can be booked at a later date if a student is not quite ready. We aim to make this a positive, happy experience.

PAYMENTS



In most circumstances, classes runs in accordance with school term time. Your payment plan covers all fees for the year. These fees are split into 12 affordable payments, therefore fees are still due during term holidays. These fees are taken out on the 1st of every month.

STARBURSTS Uniform


As nursery level we ask students to have some sort of unified element using our “STARBURSTS” logo whilst having the freedom to express what dance and style means most to them. Therefore they can choose one of the following starburst uniform items along with items of their choice whether that be leggings, trousers. shorts, tights, tutus. We do ask that uniform remains the nursery colours Baby Pink and Black.


Students are asked to wear at least one of the following;
• STARBURSTS TSHIRT (PINK OR BLACK)
• STARBURSTS BLACK LEOTARD
• STARBURSTS PINK LEOTARD
• STARBURSTS BOYS BLACK LEOTARD

These can be worn with plain or velocity black leggings//joggers/shorts and socks/tights. For the colder months Velocity Zippy and Pink Cardigans are also available.


SHOES
Students must also wear ballet shoes (black ballets shoes for boys/ pink ballet shoes for girls) for the majority of our styles as this level is the most flexible and practical shoe for dancing (not just ballet). Please wear these when coming into class. We will however ask students during each term to wear trainers for some/a class whilst we do more current trend dances, we will ask this a week in advance. These can be any brand or style but we do ask them to be kept clean for inside use and fit well. Otherwise ballet shoes will be worn. If your child has an extra pair of trainers and would like to keep them in their dance bag that’s no problem but as we know from our own children, little feet grow fast so will notify you when we will be using trainers.
